Mauritius won Gold at the third African Youth Games
The third African Youth Games kicked off on 20 July and will be ongoing until 28 July.
The Opening Ceremony yesterday took place in the July 5 stadium in Algeria’s capital city. The 80,000-capacity stadium is named after the day Algeria declared independence from France in 1962.
2017 African Youth Champion weightlifter, Dinesh Pandoo was the flag bearer for Team Mauritius.
Each of the competing countries at the Games participated in a Parade of Nations at the stadium.
Mauritius is starting strong on day one of the competition, MADANAMOOTHOO Jack Dorian won three Gold Medals in 56kg bodyweight category.
